Like I’m doing just the bare minimum (if you could even call it that) by just calling people out whenever I feel like it: which is often. Just go about your life like usual but try to teach those misguided to think differently or to at least try to listen to other views.
I mean you can, but like i said theyre not very significant. Other than page 2 its mostly generic sfxs and things that the auhor would presume people say during intercourse.
Huh? I did . . . didn’t I? That was my point, people will view women as lesser and at the extreme try to mimic what has been shown to them to whatever limited capacity they can.
Yes, i mean you are right, but I dont see the significance of that. If a small set of people read this comic and try to imitate in the limited capacity they can, i dont see what you mean. Theres some scerios that come to mind, and ill explain why each seem implausible..
A) some Men reading this will be so captivated by the omic, that they will objectify women and en when passing, for example, in the street will try to rake them because thats wht theysaw the guy in the comic doing. This is unlikely first ecause the comic clearly implies tha the act was consentful and proposed by the womn, and also because im certain heres noone deranged enough to do this jt after reading this one com, lke the straw that roe the camls back ormn.
B) Some men who read this will be cativated, objectify, etc. And then attempt to groom women around them to align with the situation seen in ths comic. This is unlikely because its stupid, like i said if this is the straw that broke the camels back then its kind perfectly timed.
C) Some men reading this will grow clser to objectfying women.
D) A guy in a relationship will read this and coax te girl into doing something akin to this comic, sort olike a roleply or somethin (highly unlikely)
So which of these is your point? Idk what you mean by mimic.
To be honest, I also don’t think the most physical recreation of this is plausible. Yet what is, is people being reinforced in their beliefs to be more misogynistic and that can escalate. I feel that in this patriarchal world every bit that puts women down is something to be fixed in the future, however I don’t exactly think that porn is exactly a small contributor.
Let me just explain to you, i dont watch porn. Ive never masturbated. I literaly just use this site because i like art and i like sexy people and ths site is good for that. Sure, it sucks trying to find good comics, but this site is one of the only places like itself. My point is, in unnatahed from the porn world and i respect women so Im uninvolved in the datast for the conundrum we have.
Also this site is good for romance manwhas, even if they have intercourse scenes. *sigh*
I find you funny; you have the same motivations as me, yet you have not amassed catalogues of pornographic content to consume just for fun. I too have never masturbated (too much everyone’s shock) and I know you are not part of the problem, perhaps, but you have to know that just doing nothing and letting things happen is complacency. And complacency is like taking the oppressor’s side, or as someone else put it: “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor”
In terms of “small set” I think that is an understatement, thousands to tens f thousands see this; the author makes hundreds of the same nature; there are hundreds if not thousands of artists just like them that make the same sort of comic. And that is not considering other forms that are more or less harmful
This in new information to me? what about the entirety of science? most scientist making ground breaking discoveries are atheists (something like 96% or something, it may have changed)
Another faceless guy used to fill the space, if you are only going to dedicate enough time to draw one character then just draw them masturbating at that point
Eh . . . it’s just that most of the time (not really here, except the cover) they are combined with the “ugly bast-you get the point” trope which makes it even more creepy, but I think the important thing for me is that I want there to be intimacy between the people if there is no emotion or anything there for motivation then why do it at all?
When I say this, I mean that I do not think of these . . . things, as people or characters as they don’t really have faces (most of the time) or they are reduced to the most simple of components that we can recognise as facial features.
Not only that, they are vacuous, without the setting they are nothing; not having notable visual features, and as their dialogue is dry we cannot rely on that either to facilitate an understanding of their character. They lack depth, and without depth I am barely getting wet when I wish to swim.
The point of the comic is to emphasize the artist’s ability to draw and capacity to understand the reactions for the female charachter. The man’s appearencee is unimportant, because that is not the point of the comic. In fact, they’ve done a wonderful job flipping it around by drawing the simple man as a cute lil guy, which makes the comic more enjoyable because it’s funny.
Imma respond in points to make sure I don’t miss anything (please don’t think of it as condescending, or as if I am talking down to you, ‘cos I am . . . obviously): 1) I feel like all art shows a person’s ability to draw or at least express what they wish through the medium of a canvas.
2) I don’t know the game or series this character comes from (ark knights maybe? I am too lazy to look at the tags by this point) so I can’t judge on how this specific character’s representation was good or poor. Also I can’t tell if you are commending the artist’s accuracy of character presentation or gender presentation in terms of this piece.
3) I would argue the opposite, maybe you haven’t seen my other critiques of this trope but the main jist is that: a thing I highly value in intercourse is the passion / drive / emotion or intimacy between the characters. When one is represented as a hollow shell both in design and personality then that intimacy is immediately null and gone, thus my distain for this trope. Additionally, and maybe this is just me, I don’t like the masks. Maybe it’s the bad comics I’ve seen time and time again, but they give me bad vibes as I associate them with the sexual abuse of women, emotionless one-night-stands and many a faceless defiling one pretty little girl.
4) What do you mean by “flipping it around”? Also the innocent, even cute, smile of the mask just feels like coercion to me as why not use a real face? Why not make them cute as a whole (face + body)? Why not give them some character traits that we can then use to further our emotion of whimsical gaiety?
I appreciate that you took time to type all thatt out XD
I agree with most of your points heree. I apologize for any spllingmistaes as i am limiited by the tech avaailable to me.
2) Im commending both, i would suppose the charaahter represention because of the emotional betrayal and te gender preseentattion because, given the confinnes of oversexualized porn comic drawins, I think its quitr good. 3)Definitely! I love your position. TBH,, I didnt gather much from the comic because I typically dont read sex scenee speech bubbles. I pray for the day people make comics with good art thatt actually have buildup, romance, intimacy, etc. 4) They dont want to do sme of those because it takes much longer to draw. Itt would be better if there was some explanaation before, but im sure fans of the series or whatever this is know whats going on.
2) So do you know this character? and that’s why you are saying they are presented well? Also what emotional betrayal (the I haven’t really read the speech bubbles but they don’t seem to talk about betrayal, this isn’t forced or NTR)?
3) I didn’t read the bubbles until now where I have VERY LIGHTLY skimmed them so I don’t really even know what’s going on apart from that the guy doesn’t even talk all that much (further proving my point that these things are lifeless husks)
4) I know . . . but have you heard of quality over quantity? Even if you know the series, it should be prefaced, otherwise you limit your demographic to those who know the series and those who don’t care about details. And those with such fickle-minded behaviour cannot be relied on for a stable audience
2) No,. The charachter has deep emotional relations in the comic, whih I would presume are aligned wi those of the charachter. Also, I aapologize, I meant portrayal but was tired, it must have slipped my mind because they sound simialar.
3) Yes, but thats the point. Peoe rweeading comic s for… enjoyment and sexual pleasurepurposes (not me i assure you)want to potray themesecves as the charachter with a good outcome. The lifeless shell of the guy helps with that.
4) Yes, butI honestly dont totally understand your pont here, but i think i agree.
2) So if you don’t know, but simply presume, how can you say that the portrayal is good as a statement?
3) So self-insert . . . which just promotes incell-type behaviour, not exactly a good thing
4) I was using stupid words to get my point across; simply-put I mean that when an artist creates something very niche, they limit their audience and by making the comic harder to understand / get into they further limit their audience. Unless some people don’t care for what makes their art unique, but if they don’t care about it enough to form a connection with it (like loving a certain aspect or finding specific bits cute, etc) they are more likely to leave as there is nothing tying them down to the art.
2) Im not saying the portrayal of the charachter from whatever this is based off of is good. Im just saying the charachter as she exists in the comic is well made. Most comics, particularly on this site, have some charachters with flat, one-minded personalities. The charachter is not like that, instead having a personality with more depth, which is a good portrayal of HOW a human wth a personality would behave. Im not saying thats an accurate representation of the canon carachter, but given the lack of emtional shallowness shown its safe to ASSUME that the author had an understanding of the type of charachter they were making, which means that the charachter in the comic is probably a mostly accurate representation o the canon charachter.
2) Ok but acknowledged that you didn’t read the text bubbles, so how can you assure me that this character has a more in depth personality or that the artist is being faithful to their source material?
You can easier make a character from a series behave in a completely different fashion and still have their personality be a fleshed out one; they won’t be acting like their original character but they’ll still have their face and body. Would you say that’s a faithful adaptation?
3) I know. But Im not qualified to speak on that because i dont envision myself as the charachter. In fact, the blandness of the male charachter leads to focus on the female forme. With this in mind, While reading the comic I was inclined to view the story from the females perspective, which is why I thought it was more wholesome than soone who read from the males perspecte and could presume grooming of the female as a potntial precursor to the events of the comic. When i ay perspective in the last cpl sntcs i dont mean the self insert, justhe general idea of who the protagonist is.
For furtr clarification, reading from the females perspective leads to a sense of desire for the male charachter, especially becase hints of beeing groomed anre removed by the females purposeful deception in the beggining,.
3) Me neither, and the vacuousness of the male character is what allows for the self-insert. In the same way, you would pay less attention to the dead bodies in the background of a zombie film and thus pay more attention to the alive characters; if you have a very boring character and then a more interesting character, you’ll obviously pay more attention to the interesting one.
By the way, just to reaffirm: have you read the speech bubbles now? should I read them so that we can continue this with more accuracy of what we are talking about? (I won’t comment on your perspective point until then, so I am fair and don’t just veto anything you say without giving the comic the same appreciation you do)
Ok I want to clarify one of my other main issues with this type of media, by focusing on the female character more and drawing away from the males character it degrades both in harmful ways. For the female character, she is objectified and sexualised. For the male character, he is reduced to some lustful heathen who just wants to have sex. Additionally, the self-insert part of all of this makes you subconsciously note that for sexy or beautiful women, men will always have their way with them. No matter who. This is what is expressed by making it so anyone can put themselves in this situation and decide for themselves what to do with this woman.
I agree, but I think that most men recognize this situation as unrealist. The idea that reading th comic will lead to men being more.. approachful of a woman, assuming that they will have the same reaction as the female charachter in the comic, is super overstated. At most, you could make an argument that the comic steers readers slightly in the direction of a patriarchal worldview.
By drawing away from characterising the male, it focuses more on this attractive woman being submissive / in this situation of being dominated by a male. By not having a clear character to submit to, it defaults to the gender itself; men. Meaning that this genre of media not only perpetuates the message that woman are to be dominated by men, but also promotes that its viewers seek to accomplish this outcome themselves.

Yeah
It’s funny how you keep saying “it’s autocorrect” every time, ‘cos I still know what you’re saying usually. I’m just messing with you
Well because it is auto correct like sometimes if I type really fast it would just put a different word instead
*puts
Well puts would mean multiple things
Nah, I just corrected you despite the fact there was no spelling mistake to see if you would spot it
And the fuck did you say on the other reply?
I think I just “valid”
*said
Lmao it seems like we are both tired
That was when I had just woke up, and I typed it out too fast and just omitted a word

2) You didn’t answer the first part of my question
I cant assure you. I dont know ive never seen the show.
Ok . . . . . . . . 👍O.O👍
3) So should I read them?
I mean you can, but like i said theyre not very significant. Other than page 2 its mostly generic sfxs and things that the auhor would presume people say during intercourse.
Isn’t page two just about how she stole the swimsuit and how she looked in it?
Yes, which isnt generic but isnt of any significance.
the middle-ground of mediocrity
Huh? I did . . . didn’t I? That was my point, people will view women as lesser and at the extreme try to mimic what has been shown to them to whatever limited capacity they can.

Well yes, we live in a corrupted world. We cant solve that, but we can at least try to purify ourselves.
Also, are you religious? Just wondering.
Alone at least, awareness is the first step though. And yes keeping oneself pure (as one possibly can) from this filthy sentiment is paramount.
Why would you think so?
Those who take time to think through things are often religious.

I have. The eech bubbles are mildly unremarkable.
Ok I want to clarify one of my other main issues with this type of media, by focusing on the female character more and drawing away from the males character it degrades both in harmful ways. For the female character, she is objectified and sexualised. For the male character, he is reduced to some lustful heathen who just wants to have sex.
I love how it’s always the same argument, but like I’m here for some people still here and for the funnies, so what?
I LOVE to say that they just get mad lol
I just downplay it, but if I get another I might just say “so?” over and over until their justifications run out
